Bill's Car Collection
Bill is the proud owner of several classic automobiles that get driven whenever he has some free time. Here they are:
1965 Shelby American 427SC "Continuation" Cobra
This car is the one Bill has wanted since he was 12 years old. It is one of the new generation Shelby Cobras being manufactured by
the legendary car builder in his Las Vegas factory. It has a 575- horsepower, 427 C.I. Ford Side-Oiler V8, Weber carburetors, and has been autographed by Carroll Shelby himself.
1970 Ford Mustang Mach I
This car actually belongs to Bill's wife, Debby, and she's the original owner! Her father purchased it for her when she was a teenager
growing up in Pennsylvania and she learned to drive in it. It has a 351 C.I. Windsor V8, Shaker Hood, and has been completely restored to its original condition.
1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9
In 1998, this was the fastest sport-utility vehicle you could buy in America, and it's still considered a collector's item. Bill's 1998 Jeep
Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9 has a 360 cubic-inch V-8 rated at 245 horsepower and is one of only about 17,000 5.9's that were built out of the 250,000 Grand Cherokees produced in '98. It's loaded with
every available Jeep option and can do an honest 140 miles-per-hour!
 1998 Jaguar XK8 Convertible
Jaguars are all about style and creamy-smooth motoring. Bill and Debby enjoy their British Racing Green Jaguar XK8 convertible
whenever the sun is shining during the spring and summer on Cape Cod with its 300-horsepower alloy V8 engine, auto-stick transmission, and Pirelli P-Zero tires. The buttery-soft Connolly leather interior and
plush cut-pile carpeting help provide for quite a luxurious ride.
1993 GMC Typhoon
GMC built only 2200 of these high-performance SUV's proclaimed as the "world's quickest sport utility". Bill is the third owner of this red
and grey rocket which is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 4.3-liter V6 that's been completely rebuilt and slightly modified to give it over 325 horsepower. The picture was taken at the Boston World
of Wheels where it recently won several awards.
Here's Bill flinging his turbo- charged Dodge Omni GLH through a corner during a Solo II event in Dighton, Massachusetts in 1986.
He held his class record for several years and won over 30 class trophies.
Bill speeds into an uphill section of the Dighton course.
Solo II racing is a time trial event in which drivers compete against the clock, and precision car control is mandatory for a winning time.
Before purchasing his genuine Shelby Cobra in 2001, Bill owned this ERA Cobra replica.
It was featured in an issue of Hot Rod Show World Magazine -- along with the obligatory swimsuit model.
Since 1974, Bill has owned a string of Corvettes of varying years and collectibility. Here are four of his favorites:
1966 427 Corvette Coupe with 425 horsepower, 4-speed transmission, and many desirable options.
It was purchased when Bill was a morning DJ at a Los Angeles radio station and the picture was taken in the parking lot at Malibu Beach in 1977.
1974 Corvette Coupe with the optional L-82 engine, 4-speed transmission, and a hand-painted mural on the hood, depicting a Cape Cod seascape—where Bill
has lived for over 25 years.
1974 Corvette Coupe.
This was the second '74 Corvette Bill has owned, and it was in exceptional condition.
Burgundy Metallic paint, Rally wheels, and plenty of options.
The last Corvette Bill purchased was this 1980 coupe, which was rare in that it was equipped with a 4-speed transmission (most 1980 Corvettes came with an
automatic).
It was a beautiful car but not quite as quick as Corvettes from the past.
Bill's been a big fan of drag racing since childhood, so it wasn't a surprise to see him competing at New England Dragway in Epping,
NH on any given Sunday.
Here he is in his 1974 Corvette about to take the green.
